Search engines scan and crawl millions of websites and blogs that are built using WordPress.
Focus on Keyword Searches

You are going to want to write an article about how to make a cat meme. Seems simple right? That’s because it is. And somewhere in your article you’re going to want the phrase, “how to make a cat meme.” This will help search engines find the words people are searching for in your article which will knock it to the top of search engine results for you.
Get A Link
Have another site link to your article or page with the anchor text on the link saying “how to make a cat meme.” This will now notify search engines that are article or page is indeed about “how to make a cat meme” because someone is linking to it saying that. Typically people link to things saying what they are so you know what you are going to if you click that link. Thus, search engines such as Google reference the links that are pointing to your article or page to see what it is exactly about. Because you could have the words/phrase “how to make a cat meme” in your article but it may not be about how you would actually make a cat meme. Such as this article you are reading has absolutely nothing to do with how someone would make a cat meme for the internet, but I have wrote “how to make a cat meme” like 10x now. However since this article is not really about how someone will make a cat meme, they will not link to this article with the text of the link saying “how to make a cat meme” because it would just make no sense, since it doesn’t have anything to do with that. The combination of this type of information helps search engines optimize their searches and deliver more accurate and consistent information to its users that are making searches.
Keyword Count Doesn’t Matter Anymore
Back in the day, several years ago. You could stuff your article or page full of keywords. You might remember seeing this as you explored the web years ago. At the end of the page or something you would see something like this:

Google actually penalizes this type of information. Which is why I even had to put it into a picture and couldn’t just type that into this article. They classify this as spam. So you want to avoid this in your writing at all chances.
As long as you have one form of the keyword in your article, Google and other search engines, they can identify what you’re saying. You don’t need to try and have it in your article so many times. They use the titles, words and text in your article, meta tags, and the links being pointed to your site to identify if it is going to be useful in a search request on their site. As long as you’re meeting those your content will be good and optimized for search engines.
